terahertz.NRW brings together the leading minds in terahertz research – from NRW and worldwide. Together, we are creating a network to harness the disruptive potential of the technology. We want to develop new mobile applications for communication, localization, material characterization, medical technology and environmental monitoring. From basic research to evaluation, from system concepts to the development of individual components and entire chips to signal processing. We make terahertz technology globally visible – made in NRW.
terahertz.NRW is a network of Fraunhofer FHR, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, University of Duisburg-Essen, Fraunhofer IMS and Bergische Universität Wuppertal, funded by the state of NRW.

Nowadays ACST is the leading European supplier of high-performance mm- and submm-wave Frontends as are sources, receivers, transceivers, frequency extenders for measurement equipment, radiometers, radar technology, etc. for laboratory instrumentation, industrial and space & defence applications.
